The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Volkov scores with the left hand. Nazari knows he should have avoided that one.
We've been told by Volkov's head coaches at Forest Hill Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nazari changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Volkov tries to avoid it but Nazari manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Volkov to the ground. Volkov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Volkov appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Volkov moves away from the strike by Nazari .
Nazari shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Volkov defends it nicely.
Nazari goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nazari lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Volkov backs up against the cage.
Nazari closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A looping hook to the body misses from Volkov. Nazari does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nazari shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Volkov sprawls well. Volkov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nazari gets slowly back to his feet.
William Volkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abioye Nazari .

Nazari jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Volkov walks away with a smile on his face. Nazari gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Volkov gets caught flat footed, as Nazari shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nazari wants to control from the top but Volkov keeps moving.
Volkov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nazari on the ground.
Volkov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Nazari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Volkov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Volkov holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Volkov moves out of range as Nazari throws a body kick.
Nazari throws an overhand right that lands on Volkov's shoulder, as Volkov tries to avoid the shot.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nazari or perhaps it was just good defense by Volkov, which made it look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Volkov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Volkov cracks Nazari with a hook to the temple - Nazari is on wobbly legs here! Volkov swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Nazari falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Volkov wins by TKO!
