Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frankie Corleone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Frankie Corleone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Spencer!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Spencer blocks a head kick by Corleone.
Corleone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice side step and Spencer releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Spencer scores with a jab. Corleone acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Spencer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Corleone manages to avoid it.
Spencer swings for the body but Corleone moves out of range.

Corleone drives through with a takedown into Spencer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Spencer wants to stand and escape but Corleone is having none of it.
Corleone postures up in Spencer's guard and throws a big left but Spencer blocks it.
Corleone looking to pass the guard.
Spencer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Corleone pushes down on Spencer's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Corleone is looking to advance position but Spencer won't allow it.
Corleone throwing shots but Spencer is blocking nicely.

Spencer is refusing to be controlled, as Corleone sits in half guard.
Spencer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corleone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Corleone is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Spencer has managed to free his arm - good work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Corleone connects with a nice short shot to Spencer's temple.

Corleone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spencer is just riding it out for now. Corleone eventually gives up the hold.

We've been hearing good reports from Corleone's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Corleone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Corleone not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Spencer can't keep his opponent in guard - Corleone advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Corleone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spencer is just riding it out for now. Corleone eventually gives up the hold.

Spencer is refusing to be controlled, as Corleone sits in half guard.
Corleone tries to pass the half guard into mount. Spencer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Spencer is in trouble now - Corleone has advanced to mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spencer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Corleone lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Spencer hang on?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Spencer holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Corleone tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Corleone misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frankie Corleone dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Corleone throws a wild body kick that Spencer sees coming a mile off.
Frankie Corleone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Corleone lands with a shot to the body.
Corleone walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Spencer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Corleone on the side of the head.
Spencer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Spencer throws a jab when Corleone was well out of range.
Spencer digs a good body shot into Corleone's ribs.
Corleone keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That kick from Spencer tenderised Corleone's leg. Corleone is trying to keep his angry face on.
Corleone throws a sloppy head kick and Spencer moves out of range easily.
Spencer throws the left hand but Corleone avoids the punch easily.
Spencer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spencer throws a body punch but Corleone moves out of range.
Corleone tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Corleone uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Spencer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spencer misses with a body shot.

Nice uppercut lands for Spencer. That snapped Corleone's head back.
Spencer lands with a shot to the body.
Corleone blocks a jab.

Corleone dives in and scores a takedown into Spencer's guard.
Spencer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Corleone is one step ahead there.
Corleone is looking to work some ground and pound but Spencer has wrist control.
Corleone throwing strikes but missing.
Corleone advances position into side control!
Corleone tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Corleone lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corleone passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Spencer!
Corleone misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Spencer is bucking up trying to escape but Corleone cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Spencer defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Corleone.
Corleone breaks from Spencer's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Spencer is squirming around, avoiding Corleone's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corleone is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Corleone extends the arm and Spencer is forced to tap!
