Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jody Carrillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Gill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jody Carrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Gill!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Gill misses.
Carrillo is looking for a counter combo.

Gill fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carrillo sprawls well initially but Gill persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gill is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Carrillo keeping moving, preventing Gill from controlling successfully.
Carrillo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carrillo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gill manages to get himself to full guard.


Carrillo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gill looking for a sweep. Not yet Gill, not yet.
Carrillo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carrillo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gill works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gill working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carrillo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carrillo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gill pulls Carrillo in to control the position.

Gill wants to stand but Carrillo is controlling the position.
Carrillo throwing strikes but missing.
Carrillo postures up and lands a big shot to Gill's brow.
Carrillo scoring with punches to the head and body.
Gill wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Carrillo manages to pass to side control.
Gill is looking to improve his position.
Carrillo thows a huge punch but Gill dodges it nicely.

Carrillo wants to work for an arm triangle but Gill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Carrillo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gill has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gill is trying to get back to full guard.
Gill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carrillo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gill keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gill is trying to get back to full guard.

Carrillo is trying to work for a kimura but Gill is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carrillo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gill is looking to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gill can do anything to dispel that myth.

Carrillo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Carrillo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gill looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Carrillo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gill sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jody Carrillo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Gill feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gill's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gill won't allow Carrillo to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gill wants to get up but he can't break Carrillo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gill advances position into side control!
Carrillo stuck in half guard on the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gill staying calm.
Carrillo avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gill.

Gill swings around for an armbar but Carrillo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gill's guard.
Carrillo throws a big elbow that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carrillo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gill works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Carrillo prevents Gill from getting back to his feet.

Carrillo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carrillo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gill is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carrillo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gill looking for a sweep. Not yet Gill, not yet.
Carrillo wanted to stand there but Gill had control of the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Carrillo feints and then cracks Gill's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gill down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gill throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carrillo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gill is in Carrillo's guard.

Carrillo is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gill presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Carrillo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gill walks away with a smile on his face. Carrillo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gill shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gill slows the pace down in half guard.
Gill lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gill thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gill trying to control the pace.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gill is continuing to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Kyle Gill will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Gill looks to land a body kick but Carrillo moved away.
Carrillo tries to clinch up

and Gill counters with a big slam. Carrillo looks out but Gill is landing strikes to his unconscious opponent! Eventually the ref steps in to save Carrillo from any more punishment. A brutal conclusion to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Kyle Gill!
