Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Pintos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Junior Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, El Pintos!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Topper Green and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos tries a low kick but Pintos avoids it.
Santos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pintos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Santos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Santos misses with a combination
and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Santos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Santos lands with a right hand.
Good shot there by Pintos.
Pintos scores with a shot to the body.
Santos shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Junior Dos Santos has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pintos.
Santos looks to land a left hand but Pintos moved out of range nicely.
Santos takes one to the side of the head.

Pintos drops Santos with a big left hand and mounts him. Santos is in big trouble!

Oh Santos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pintos controlling the position easily from mount.
Santos seems to have got his legs back now.
Santos is wriggling around trying to escape.
Santos regains half guard.
Pintos is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pintos stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
El Pintos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Santos throws a jab when Pintos was well out of range.

Pintos bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Santos! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Santos pulls Pintos in close to prevent any damage.

Pintos wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.
Pintos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Santos looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Santos lands with a shot to the body.
Good leg kick by Pintos there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Pintos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Santos.
Pintos swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Santos misses with a looping left.
Pintos misses with a hook.
Pintos lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Santos at a distance.
Santos connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Santos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pintos.
Pintos throws an overhand right that lands on Santos's shoulder, as Santos tries to avoid the shot.
Santos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pintos.
Nice uppercut there from Pintos.

Pintos throws a head kick that misses.
Pintos ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Santos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Santos throws a lazy right hand but Pintos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Pintos dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Santos takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Pintos connects with a leg kick. Santos looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Santos throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Pintos to counter with a crisp jab.
A swing and a miss from Santos.
Pintos lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Santos staying out of range there.
Pintos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Santos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Santos slips a straight right by Pintos.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pintos misses with an uppercut. Santos saw that one coming.

Pintos lands a left and a right that sends Santos crashing to the canvas! Pintos dives into mount looking to finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pintos wants to control the pace but Santos is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos tries to hold on but Pintos postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Santos has his hands clasped together around Pintos's back. He's all about the action.

Santos throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Pintos sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Santos to the ground! Pintos dives into full mount looking to finish!
Pintos wants to control the pace but Santos is squirming around nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santos wants to hold on but Pintos pushes him away.
Pintos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Santos is desperately trying to improve his position but Pintos has a good base and remains in mount.
Pintos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Santos tries to reverse the position but Pintos maintains control.

Santos is squirming around, avoiding Pintos's attempts to control the action.
Santos is looking to improve his position but Pintos isn't that keen on the idea.

El Pintos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Santos connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pintos's hands.

Pintos's jab looks to have found its range, popping Santos under the eye.
Pintos has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Santos scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Santos throws a shot from downtown. Pintos moves away and avoids it.

Pintos throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Santos tumbling to the canvas!

Santos has his foot on Pintos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pintos works his way back into a safe position though.
Pintos tries to free his leg and advance position but Santos is retaining full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santos thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Pintos is stalling in the full guard.
Pintos trying to move into half guard but instead Santos has managed to sweep!

Santos postures up in Pintos's guard and throws a big left but Pintos blocks it.
Pintos is looking to stand up but Santos isn't so interested in that idea.
Santos with a flurry of punches that miss.

Pintos manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A big right from Pintos misses.
Pintos scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Junior Dos Santos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pintos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pintos darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Pintos has closed the distance and engaged Santos in a clinch.
Santos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Pintos keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Santos's efforts to push away.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pintos.

Santos is pushing Pintos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A short uppercut from Pintos.
Santos has had enough of the clinch but Pintos keeps him there for the moment.

Pintos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A right-left combo lands from Santos.

Santos ducks straight into an uppercut from Pintos and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Santos manages to regain guard straight away.


Junior Dos Santos's cut is getting worse.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pintos wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
El Pintos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Santos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pintos controls the pace.
Junior Dos Santos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pintos looking to sit in guard and control but Santos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


And that's the end of the fight!
El Pintos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pintos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
