The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rioka tries for a takedown but Mythos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rioka throws a series of strikes that have Mythos backpedaling.
Mythos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rioka moves away.
Rioka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rioka fails to land the takedown.
Mythos attempts a counter takedown but Rioka avoids it well and moves away.
Mythos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rioka was well out of range. Poor timing from Mythos.
Mythos sizes up Rioka with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Tristan Rioka has been cut.
Rioka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mythos postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rioka to stand up.

Rioka forces Mythos back against the cage and clinches.
Rioka looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Rioka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mythos throws a shot from downtown. Rioka moves away and avoids it.
Rioka shoots in but no luck this time.
Rioka throws a sloppy head kick and Mythos moves out of range easily.
Mythos feinted with a counter takedown.

Rioka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mythos was covering up waiting for the punch and Rioka finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mythos has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rioka is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Mythos lands a hook that snaps the head of Rioka backwards.

Mythos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tristan Rioka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rioka throws a right and a left that Mythos avoids nicely.
Mythos drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rioka sprawls and moves away.
Rioka feints and then cracks Mythos's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mythos down.

Rioka gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rioka's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Mythos lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rioka tries to land knees in the clinch but Mythos avoids the damage to the body.

A frustrated look appears on Rioka's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mythos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rioka forces Mythos back against the cage and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mythos tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rioka's elbow.
Still in the clinch, Mythos scores with a nice short uppercut.
Mythos lands an elbow inside.

Mythos manages to break the clinch.

Rioka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Rioka shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Rioka is rocked!
Rioka walks straight into a right hand from Mythos - that's dropped him! Mythos jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Rioka from any more punishment! Rioka complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Mack Mythos was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
