Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Oneill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Natsu Dragneel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Oneill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Natsu Dragneel!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneill misses with a takedown

and Dragneel holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Dragneel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dragneel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Oneill closes the distance and pushes Dragneel back into the cage.
Dragneel prevents a body shot from Oneill.

Dragneel successfully pulls guard.
Dragneel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dragneel has control of Oneill's left arm, preventing Oneill from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dragneel manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Dragneel misses with a jab, cross combination.

Dragneel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Oneill wants a takedown but no success here.

Dragneel jumps guard and drags Oneill to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Dragneel has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Oneill has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Oneill has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dragneel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joel Oneill. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dragneel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Oneill uses from the top position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dragneel holds on and takes a little breather.

Dragneel is pushing down on Oneill's leg trying to pass to half guard. Oneill is fighting to maintain full guard but Dragneel has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dragneel wants to work for an arm triangle but Oneill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Dragneel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oneill doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dragneel.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dragneel in particular looking to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dragneel stalling.
Oneill wants to control but Dragneel is keeping busy.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dragneel in particular looking to stall.
Dragneel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Oneill shoots in for a takedown but Dragneel shows good takedown defense.

Oneill tries to keep at a distance but Dragneel has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dragneel lands an elbow inside that Oneill shrugs off.


It looks like Joel Oneill has been cut.
Oneill is working for takedown but Dragneel is calmly controlling the position for now.
Oneill is trying to break the clinch but Dragneel is controlling him.

Dragneel is trying to trip Oneill. He has hold of a leg but Oneill is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dragneel persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Dragneel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Oneill is on top in guard.

Dragneel controlling the position.
Dragneel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Oneill's guard.

Dragneel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oneill works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Oneill is looking to sweep but instead, Dragneel has passed into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dragneel connects with a nice short shot to Oneill's temple.

and Dragneel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Dragneel is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Oneill is staying active.

Dragneel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dragneel is on top in guard.


Dragneel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dragneel throws a nice outside leg kick.

Dragneel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dragneel lands in his opponent's guard.
Oneill lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dragneel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Oneill manages to get himself to full guard.

Oneill not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dragneel controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dragneel advances position into side control!
Oneill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dragneel on the ground.
Oneill is trying to work for a sweep but Dragneel has mounted him!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dragneel manages to capitalize on a mistake by Oneill to take his back!

Dragneel is looking for the choke from the back position but Oneill is controlling his hands well.

Natsu Dragneel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Dragneel gets a clinch.
Oneill is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Dragneel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dragneel.
Dragneel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Let's hope that Dragneel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Oneill tries to roll over but Dragneel keeps him under control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dragneel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oneill doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dragneel.
Dragneel tries to stand and escape but Oneill is controlling the position.
Dragneel is taking a breather. Oneill says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Dragneel stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Oneill shoots in looking for a takedown but Dragneel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oneill's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dragneel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Oneill gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dragneel gets to his feet - Oneill follows without any prompting.
Oneill tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dragneel defends well and Oneill ends up having to push Dragneel into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dragneel follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Dragneel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Oneill wants to get back to full guard but Dragneel has mounted him!
Dragneel controlling the pace for now.
Oneill tries to reverse the position but Dragneel maintains control.

Dragneel unloads with some shots from mount but Oneill bucks and avoids them well.

Dragneel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dragneel has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Oneill has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Natsu Dragneel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well Dragneel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
