Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Kirkland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Green!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Green wants to free his trapped foot but Kirkland is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Green content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kirkland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Green on the ground.
Green is keen to just control but Kirkland is a slippery customer.
Green thows a huge punch but Kirkland dodges it nicely.

Green is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Green seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Green moves into full mount! Kirkland won't be happy about that!

Kirkland looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Green. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Jordan Kirkland is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kirkland tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Green was well out of range. Poor timing from Kirkland.

Kirkland gets caught napping as Green dives in and scores a takedown. Kirkland manages to retain guard.
Green trying to control the position from guard on top but Kirkland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Green controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Green looking to sit in guard and control but Kirkland gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Green had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kirkland defends it easily.
Green seems keen to control Kirkland's posture.

Kirkland's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Green looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kirkland is one step ahead there.
Kirkland seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Green lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Green closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Green showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Green ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kirkland moves away.

Green shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kirkland is trying to defend but Green finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kirkland is trying to escape back to his feet but Green uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Green has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Green wants to work for an arm triangle but Kirkland is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well Green has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
