And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jones scores with a nice right hand.


It looks like Dallas Cleveland has been cut.
Cleveland takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Cleveland clinches with his opponent.

Cleveland has picked Jones up - he's going for a ride! Cleveland dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Jones has one foot on Cleveland's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cleveland shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jones is trying to stand.
Cleveland could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Cleveland has his opponent's back but Jones is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Cleveland.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cleveland gets a clinch.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.

Cleveland lands a takedown into guard.

Jones has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cleveland off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Jon Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cleveland fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones cracks Cleveland with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jones throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cleveland takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jones smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Jones's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cleveland under the eye.

Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Cleveland's head back.

Cleveland takes a jab right on the kisser.

Cleveland looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Cleveland won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.
Cleveland is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but Cleveland dives into side control.
Cleveland creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cleveland. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cleveland stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Cleveland instigates a clinch.

Cleveland has hold of one of Jones's legs. Jones is fighting the takedown attempt but Cleveland gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cleveland dives into side control.


Cleveland tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Cleveland scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Cleveland looking for a guillotine from mount but Jones is having none of it.
BOOM! Cleveland connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones wants to try and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cleveland throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Cleveland finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jones pushes Cleveland off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Cleveland. Cleveland maintains the clinch.

Cleveland lands a takedown into guard.

Cleveland drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cleveland jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dallas Cleveland overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones is looking to stand up but Cleveland isn't so interested in that idea.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cleveland manages to pass to side control.

Jones tries to kick Cleveland off in order to stand up. Cleveland Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Cleveland is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jones throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jon Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cleveland on the side of the head.
Jones pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cleveland back to the cage. Jones follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jones tries to sprawl but Cleveland drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jones scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cleveland manages to mount him!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Cleveland is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jones somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Cleveland shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
Jones is wriggling around but Cleveland manages to pass to half guard.

Jones is trying to escape back to his feet but Cleveland uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet here but Cleveland is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jones's back.
Cleveland tries to get the hooks in deep but Jones pushed the leg off.
Jones is trying to stand back up.

Jones covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Cleveland punishes Jones with strikes from the back mount.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Cleveland struggling to keep hold of the position.

Jones is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Cleveland on his back. Cleveland looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Jones has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
