L.V - Gangsta's Paradise as his entrance music. Mat Diaz could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Benjamin Siegel's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Siegel was covering up waiting for the punch and Diaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Diaz throws a strike but Siegel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Siegel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Siegel wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Siegel is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Siegel working his ground and pound in the gym.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Siegel tries to free his leg and advance position but Diaz is retaining full guard.
Siegel wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Siegel defends it easily.
Siegel makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Siegel is looking to advance position but Diaz has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Diaz postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Siegel badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Diaz around the waist but Diaz pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Diaz is the winner by TKO! Diaz jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
