Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Numbers Fulton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Numbers Fulton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean West!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fulton jabs at West's body.

Fulton clinches up against the cage.
Fulton lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Sean West has been cut.

Fulton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fulton darts in and clinches West up against the cage.
West misses with a punch on the inside.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Fulton connects with a knee to the head.

West has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fulton regains guard immediately.
West not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fulton controls West momentarily but West frees himself.
West slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fulton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Let's hope that West has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fulton scores with a shot to the body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fulton has West up against the cage in a clinch.

Fulton manages to break the clinch.
Fulton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but West moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fulton drives through and clinches with West against the cage.

Fulton breaks from the clinch.

Fulton takes the fight into the clinch.
West tries to throw a body punch but Fulton avoids it by throwing West back against the cage.

West works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Fulton wriggles free and stands up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fulton clinches with his opponent.

West turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and West manages to end up in side control.
West is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Fulton is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
West is looking to take a break and control but Fulton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
West is staying tight to Fulton's torso, preventing him from escaping.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from West.
Fulton is looking for a sweep.
West just content to control the position.
Fulton manages to work his way to half guard, despite West's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Numbers Fulton dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sean West's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Fulton forces West back against the cage and clinches.
Fulton scores with a knee to the head.
West prevents a takedown attempt there.

West has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fulton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sean West has got the better of the ground game so far.
West really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Fulton.
Fulton just trying to survive but West is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Fulton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that West can do to turn this around?
West controls the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fulton wants to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fulton is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by West.
West's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fulton wants to get back to his feet.
Fulton is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Fulton is keeping busy.
West just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yet more stalling tactics from West.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fulton can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean West showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Sean West's cut.
That's time! Fulton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Fulton moves into the clinch.
West wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
West wants to stall.

West works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
West engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
More stalling from West.
Fulton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. West manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Fulton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fulton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
West keeping moving, preventing Fulton from controlling successfully.
West tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fulton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if West can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fulton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fulton pushes West up against the cage in a clinch.

West lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
West takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fulton wants to control but West is keeping busy and won't allow it.
West prevents Fulton from standing back up.
Still in half guard, West seems content to control.
West with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
Fulton wants to control but West is keeping busy.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
West sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fulton closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Fulton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

West lands a takedown into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
West looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Numbers Fulton.
I think Fulton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
