The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Edgar.

Rivers drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rivers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Edgar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Rivers stands up and waves to Edgar to follow him.
Rivers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Edgar.
Frankie Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Edgar swings widly with a right hand
and Rivers counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rivers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Edgar looks winded!
Edgar misses with a straight left.

Rivers moves into range and clinches up with Edgar.

Rivers pulls guard effortlessly.
Edgar looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Rivers wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Rivers scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rivers dodges the punch combination from Edgar.
Rivers seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Rivers moves away from the strike by Edgar.

Rivers changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Edgar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Edgar bucks up and tries to throw Rivers off but instead Rivers has got his back!
Rivers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rivers is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Edgar is tapping out! This one is all over!
