Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kalle Kullervo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Misterioso Damballah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kalle Kullervo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, El Misterioso Damballah!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kullervo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Kalle Kullervo has been cut.
Kullervo digs a good hook to Damballah's body.

Damballah shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Kullervo pushes Damballah off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Damballah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kullervo moves away.

Kullervo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Damballah to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Damballah stops Kullervo from standing up.
Damballah throws a strike but Kullervo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kullervo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Damballah misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A counter left hand to the body from Kullervo misses its target.
Nice cross by Damballah.
El Misterioso Damballah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Damballah connects with a right that clearly hurt Kullervo. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Damballah proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Kullervo collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). El Misterioso Damballah!
In his post fight interview, El Misterioso Damballah started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
