Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Renato Laranja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Yonglong Li!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li tries to land a front kick but Laranja steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
As Li looks to move away, Laranja throws a big counter combo but Li just gets out of the way.
Laranja tries to clinch but Li moves out of range.
Laranja tries for a takedown but Li circles away easily
and Li counters with a leg kick.
Laranja fails with the takedown
enabling Li to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice shot lands for Li.
Li goes for a small jab and connects. Now Li goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Laranja stumbles back but Li runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Laranja to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Laranja will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Yonglong Li!
Yonglong Li decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
