PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manolo Fu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harbor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fu comes to the cage accompanied by A Fifth Of Beethoven. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manolo Fu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Harbor!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harbor throws a predictable looking body shot
and Fu counters with a thumping low kick.
Fu attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Fu lands the left hand.
Harbor throws the left hand but Fu avoids the punch easily.
Fu half committed to a counter leg kick.
Fu avoids the body shot from Harbor.
Harbor fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fu connects with a body shot that sends Harbor's belly button to the back.
Fu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harbor looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fu misses with a low kick.
Manolo Fu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harbor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fu's waist but Fu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Harbor off to one side.
Fu lands a lovely overhand right.
A shot to the body from Harbor misses
and Fu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Harbor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fu tries to avoid it but Harbor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fu to the ground. Fu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harbor has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Harbor manages to avoid it.
Harbor looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fu fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Harbor connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Fu fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Harbor on the side of the head.
Manolo Fu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harbor chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fu can pounce on him.

Harbor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fu to the mat! Fu manages to get full guard.
Harbor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fu keeping moving, preventing Harbor from controlling successfully.
Fu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fu holds on and takes a little breather.
Harbor throwing strikes but missing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harbor pushing down on Fu's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Harbor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fu keeps working.
Harbor throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Harbor is trying to control. Fu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Harbor sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fu defending well though.

Harbor in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Fu tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Harbor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). James Harbor!
During a confident post fight interview, James Harbor thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
