Wai Ping's entrance music is Once upon a time in China. A fine choice. Lu Wai Ping could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Takem Downem's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wai Ping swats away the attempt to clinch by Downem.
Downem gets a takedown into half guard.
Downem decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Wai Ping lands a jab to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice uppercut there from Wai Ping.
Downem is rocked!
It looks like Takem Downem has been cut.
Wai Ping lands a nice looking body shot.
Downem is still on wobbly legs! Can Wai Ping finish him?
Downem has closed the distance and engaged Wai Ping in a clinch.
Downem seems to have recovered his senses.
Wai Ping escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A left lands for Wai Ping.
We've been hearing reports that Wai Ping has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wai Ping throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Downem dives in for a single leg takedown but Wai Ping sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It looked like Wai Ping was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Downem.
Wai Ping steps in with a hook that catches Downem right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Wai Ping follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Downem looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lu Wai Ping!
