And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mad Rob!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wooten fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wooten sets himself, and Rob steps forward looking for the clinch! Wooten avoids it this time.
Rob throws a head kick that half lands.
Rob stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wooten throws a series of punches but Rob moves out of range.
Rob throws out a counter right but Wooten avoids it with no problem.
Kevin Wooten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big right from Wooten misses.
Wooten throws a right and a left that Rob avoids nicely.
Wooten misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rob throws a big shot that misses.
Rob connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
An inside leg kick lands from Rob.
Wooten swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rob tries to counter with a clinch but Wooten shakes him off and moves away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wooten misses with a double jab.
We've been hearing reports that Wooten has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wooten takes one to the chin there.
Rob is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Wooten tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rob is able to avoid easily.

Rob throws a jab but it's blocked by Wooten.
Rob lands with a slapping head kick.
Wooten uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rob.

Rob scores with a jab. Wooten acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Wooten chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rob can pounce on him.
Wooten throws a nice looking combination but Rob bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rob scores with a jab to the body.
Wooten throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch combination from Wooten misses.
Good standup being displayed there by Rob as he connects with a hook.
Rob cracks Wooten with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Wooten takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rob throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rob lands with an overhand left.
Wooten swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rob works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wooten misses with the combination.
Wooten takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rob pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wooten misses with a few strikes there.

Wooten will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rob throws a jab when Wooten was well out of range.
Wooten walks into a left hand.
Wooten on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rob. Rob obviously looking to wear him down.
Rob fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Rob keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wooten fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wooten misses with a wild combination.
Rob scores with a decent looking hook.


Wooten is rocked!
Rob cracks Wooten with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Oh Wooten is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rob lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Wooten falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rob dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mad Rob!
Mad Rob is the new welterweight champion!
Mad Rob seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Kevin Wooten had this to say: 'Uhh, to be honest idk what to say. I'm sad. Idk how much more I got in me. We will see'.
