The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dahlen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dahlen swings around for an armbar but Simon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dahlen's guard.

Dahlen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dahlen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simon is one step ahead there.
Simon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dahlen is on top in guard.

Dahlen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dahlen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Simon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dahlen, into his guard.

Dahlen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Dahlen has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Simon is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dahlen.
