Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shit Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Olov Hermansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Face comes to the cage accompanied by Blue clear sky. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Shit Face!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jan Olov Hermansson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Face gets tackled into the cage by Hermansson. Hermansson maintains the clinch.
Face is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hermansson is defending well.
Face is looking to take this one to the mat.
Face prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hermansson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Face gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hermansson.
Shit Face has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Olov Hermansson.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Face is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hermansson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Face gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Face is pressed up against the cage. Hermansson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Face down to the mat. Face avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hermansson tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Face counters with a single leg into guard. Hermansson didn't expect that.
Face tries to free his leg and advance position but Hermansson is retaining full guard.
Face looking to sit in guard and control but Hermansson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hermansson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Face is proving hard to escape from.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Face holds on and takes a little breather.
Face looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hermansson is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Face has Hermansson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Face pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hermansson tumbling to the mat - Face dives into Hermansson's guard.

Hermansson is trying to drag Face to the mat but Face just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jan Olov Hermansson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Hermansson tries to clinch there but Face circles away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hermansson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Face has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hermansson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hermansson stands up and waves to Face to follow him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hermansson goes for a takedown attempt but Face pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Face has Hermansson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hermansson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hermansson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Face controls the pace.

Hermansson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jan Olov Hermansson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hermansson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
