Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michal Kucharski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Buffel!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Kucharski blocks a jab.
Kucharski swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kucharski slips a jab and a cross from Buffel.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Buffel takes one to the side of the head.

Buffel moves out of range as Kucharski strikes.
Buffel tries to counter with a clinch but Kucharski shakes him off and moves away.
Kucharski throws a hook but Buffel blocks it.
Sloppy strikes from Buffel. Those never looked like landing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Buffel misses with a body shot.
Kucharski was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kucharski throws a hook but Buffel avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kucharski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Kucharski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kucharski is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Buffel tries to get to full guard but Kucharski has control of the leg.

Buffel is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kucharski scores with a couple of nice shots.
Well, if Kucharski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kucharski takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Buffel is trying to control but can't.
Buffel on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Buffel is looking for a sweep. Kucharski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kucharski looks to score some points with some ground and pound.


Buffel is rocked!

Kucharski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Buffel is still in real trouble! Can Kucharski finish him?

Kucharski seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Buffel is trying to stand.
Buffel seems to have recovered his senses.

Kucharski is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kucharski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kucharski looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Buffel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Michal Kucharski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kucharski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Buffel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kucharski winds up and cracks Buffel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kucharski lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Buffel! More strikes land and this one is all over! Kucharski jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michal Kucharski!
Michal Kucharski was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
