The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorsen throws a right hand that Carvalho ducks under and follows up with a left that Carvalho also avoids with ease.
We've been hearing reports that Carvalho has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Thorsen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Carvalho takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Thorsen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Carvalho shoots for a double leg takedown but Thorsen sprawls well. He's pushed Carvalho's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Carvalho takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Thorsen lands a big uppercut and Carvalho crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Carvalho looks OK. Thorsen waves Carvalho back to his feet!

Thorsen stuffs the takedown attempt from Carvalho. Carvalho gets slowly back to his feet.

Thorsen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carvalho on the side of the head.
Thorsen tries to bum rush Carvalho with a series of wild strikes but Carvalho uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Carvalho drops down looking for a counter takedown but Thorsen sprawls and moves away.
A punch lands to the side of Carvalho 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Carvalho shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thorsen's guard.

Carvalho is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thorsen has escaped the position, nice work there.

Carvalho is working to tighten his grip on Thorsen's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Thorsen has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Carvalho is really squeezing tight and eventually Thorsen passes out! Carvalho breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
