Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gus Beach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anatoli Kuznetsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gus Beach has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gus Beach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anatoli Kuznetsov!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kuznetsov gets a clinch.
Kuznetsov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Beach smiles and moves away.
Kuznetsov fails with a takedown attempt.
Beach half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kuznetsov scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Beach tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kuznetsov wants to counter with a clinch but Beach pushes him away.
Beach really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gus Beach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anatoli Kuznetsov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beach throws a sloppy head kick and Kuznetsov moves out of range easily.
Kuznetsov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beach is fending him off so far but Kuznetsov persists. Nope, Beach circles away and we're back to standing.

Beach closes the distance and pushes Kuznetsov back into the cage.

Beach can't find room to land a body shot as Kuznetsov controls the action.
Beach is pushing Kuznetsov up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Kuznetsov tries to pull guard but Beach holds him up against the cage and eventually Kuznetsov drops back down to his feet.
Beach tries to throw a body punch but Kuznetsov avoids it by throwing Beach back against the cage.

Kuznetsov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kuznetsov shoots in looking for a takedown. Beach tries to sprawl out of it but Kuznetsov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beach manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Beach will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Beach misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kuznetsov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beach tries to avoid it but Kuznetsov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beach to the ground. Beach escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kuznetsov is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Beach uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kuznetsov.

Kuznetsov closes the distance and clinches up with Beach, looking for a takedown. Kuznetsov pushes Beach against the cage but Beach circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kuznetsov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beach sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kuznetsov somewhat.

Beach decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kuznetsov to his feet.
Kuznetsov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beach circles away.

Beach seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Beach moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Kuznetsov.
Beach gets to mount! Kuznetsov was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Kuznetsov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Beach pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Beach postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kuznetsov looks a forlorn figure.

Beach has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kuznetsov's face.
Beach lands a couple of good shots and Kuznetsov has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Gus Beach overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Beach connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Kuznetsov to escape the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Beach looking to break Kuznetsov's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kuznetsov remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Beach will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Well Beach has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
