Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russel Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Adkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Adkins will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Russel Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Adkins!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adkins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Adkins wants to stand but Green has his arm trapped.
Green sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Adkins working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Green really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adkins is trying to control the action in half guard but Green is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Adkins is working for a kimura but Green is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Green connects with a nice short shot to Adkins's temple.

Adkins has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Green clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Adkins is trying to stick to Green's back but Green is turning into Adkins. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Adkins's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Green.
This has been an exciting period of action!
