The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bay as he avoids it easily.
Bay lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Marko Filipovic has been cut.

Bay gets a double leg takedown into Filipovic's guard.
Bay throws an elbow that misses. Filipovic uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bay's guard. Nice move by Filipovic!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bay can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Filipovic decides to stand and escape the position.
Bay uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Bay closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bay looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Filipovic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Marko Filipovic's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Bay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Filipovic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Filipovic is trying to maintain the position but Bay is very close to passing his half guard.

Filipovic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bay's guard.

Filipovic could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Filipovic is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bay is looking to stand back up but Filipovic counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bay.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Filipovic content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Filipovic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Bay throws a series of strikes that have Filipovic backpedaling.

Jeez, Marko Filipovic's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

A very excited looking Hello Bay made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
