Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Lynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Rondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Rondo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Karl Lynn's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lynn darts in and clinches Rondo up against the cage.
Lynn is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Lynn stalling.
Lynn managing to block the knees to the body from Rondo.
Lynn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rondo just stands there and leans against the cage.
Lynn's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Rondo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rondo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lynn sprawls well initially but Rondo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lynn keeping hold of Rondo's head, controlling as best he can.
Lynn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rondo is trying to control. Lynn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lynn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rondo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rondo's back!
Rondo trying to get back to his feet but Lynn is in full control for now.

Lynn is persistently looking for the submission but Rondo is defending it well.

Rondo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lynn is hanging on to Rondo's back as he tries to escape.

Lynn has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Rondo wants to control his opponent's hands but Lynn gets his hands free.

Lynn is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Rondo is defending well though. Lynn let's go of the attempt for now.
Rondo is keeping busy.
Rondo tries to escape but Lynn has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Lynn trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Rondo doesn't escape.

Lynn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rondo looks winded!

Karl Lynn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rondo keeps trying to improve his position.

Lynn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rondo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lynn haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Rondo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Lynn is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Chris Rondo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
