Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Corey Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the ring accompanied by Can't Be Touched. Vos is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Three Little Birds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Corey Davis!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Vos!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Davis.
Davis lands a really nice looking cross but Vos seems unphased.
Vos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice uppercut there from Vos.
Davis misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Vos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fighters circling - Vos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vos ducks under a wild hook from Davis.
Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vos moves away.
Vos connects with the punch.
Davis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A right-left combo lands from Davis.
Davis lands a jab to Vos's midsection.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vos has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Davis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Vos is out of range.
Davis throws a right and a left that Vos avoids nicely.
Vos changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Davis lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Davis swings wildly with an uppercut but Vos uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vos tries to throw a body punch but Davis avoids it by throwing Vos back against the ropes.

Davis manages to break the clinch.
Corey Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nice defenses there by Vos.
Vos gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Vos slips under a jab from Davis.
Davis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Vos back to the ropes. Davis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Vos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davis is fending him off so far but Vos persists. Nope, Davis circles away and we're back to standing.

Vos on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Davis. Davis obviously looking to wear him down.

and Vos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Vos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Vos stands and throws Davis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Vos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Poor strikes thrown by Vos there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Vos might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Vos takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Vos works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Davis tries to bum rush Vos with a series of wild strikes but Vos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Horrible takedown attempt by Vos or perhaps it was just good defense by Davis, which made it look bad.

Vos moves out of range of the body kick from Davis.
Davis tries to land a front kick but Vos steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Vos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Davis finds it's way round the side to connect with Vos's head.
Davis throws an overhand right that lands on Vos's shoulder, as Vos tries to avoid the shot.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Davis - that will leave a mark!
Vos's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Vos throws a hook to the side of Davis's head but Davis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Davis throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vos.
Despite the aggression on Vos's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Vos postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Davis stops Vos from passing to mount.

Vos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Vos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Davis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Jake Vos.
