PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Helder Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kruger Vance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vance is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kruger Vance!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vance misses with an uppercut
and Dias cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dias pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Vance back to the cage. Dias follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Vance has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dias scoring well with a low kick there.
Dias connects with an inside leg kick.
Dias feints and then cracks Vance's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vance down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vance. Dias does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dias misses with a body shot.
Vance unleashes a big counter combination but Dias bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Dias tries to land a leg kick but Vance saw it coming and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dias defending well as Vance loads up on a big left hand.
Vance waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dias.
Dias throws a body kick that misses.

Vance avoids the body shot from Dias.
Dias uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vance.
Vance doesn't manage to clinch there - Dias circles away.
Vance throws a nice looking combination but Dias bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dias scores with a one two! Vance had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Dias swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dias works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Vance cracks Dias with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dias goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dias is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vance.

It looks like Helder Dias has been cut.
Dias throws a leg kick that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dias tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A countering left hand to the body from Vance misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dias throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vance is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Dias with a body shot.
Dias scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Vance drops Dias with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dias looks back up at him and smiles so Vance waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Dias is rocked!
Dias looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Oh Dias is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vance throws a nice looking combination but Dias bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vance steps in with a hook that catches Dias right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Vance follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Dias looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kruger Vance!
In his post fight interview, Kruger Vance started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
