Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Suleijma Tudekiks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shinya Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tudekiks throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A punch combination from Tudekiks misses.
Tudekiks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nakamura manages to avoid it.
Tudekiks looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Tudekiks went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Shinya Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tudekiks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Tudekiks counters with a series of strikes. Nakamura will be more careful next time no doubt.

Nakamura has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tudekiks uses from the top position.
Nakamura manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tudekiks manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tudekiks wants to stand and escape but Nakamura is having none of it.
Nakamura is pushing down on Tudekiks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tudekiks is fighting to maintain full guard but Nakamura has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tudekiks wants to get back to his feet.
Nakamura wants to free his trapped foot but Tudekiks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tudekiks looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Tudekiks wants to stand back up but Nakamura manages to pass into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee asks Nakamura politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nakamura prefers to stall for the moment though.
Tudekiks is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Nakamura is controlling him well.

Nakamura is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Nakamura extends the arm and Tudekiks is forced to tap!

A relieved looking Shinya Nakamura thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
