The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schwarzeneg paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Schwarzeneg closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Ruiz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schwarzeneg to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Ruiz is working an open guard so Schwarzeneg takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Schwarzeneg gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Schwarzeneg blocks a body shot from Ruiz.

Schwarzeneg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Schwarzeneg pulls guard effortlessly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schwarzeneg has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ruiz has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Ruiz wants to break free but Schwarzeneg has control.
Ruiz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schwarzeneg blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Schwarzeneg pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schwarzeneg is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ruiz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Schwarzeneg lands an elbow inside that Ruiz shrugs off.

It looks like Pablo Ruiz has been cut.
Ruiz looking to stall.

Schwarzeneg jumps guard and drags Ruiz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Ruiz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ruiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Schwarzeneg pushes a forearm under Ruiz's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ruiz is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
