Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frederic Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Lawsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Lawsen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frederic Bean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Lawsen!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawsen throws a wild body kick that Bean sees coming a mile off.
Bean tries to counter by clinching up but Lawsen breaks away and moves out of range.
Bean lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bean.
Bean swats away the attempt to clinch by Lawsen.

Lawsen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lawsen in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Lawsen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lawsen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Lawsen passes the guard and advances to mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Lawsen throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Lawsen goes for an armbar but Bean turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bean.
Bean throws a big right hand that misses.
Lawsen wants to stand and escape but Bean is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bean avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lawsen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bean might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bean wants to get up but he can't break Lawsen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bean wants to control from the top but Lawsen keeps moving.
Bean has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lawsen is proving hard to escape from.
Lawsen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lawsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bean swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It looked like Bean was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Lawsen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bean goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lawsen prevents it.

Lawsen continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Bean has Lawsen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lawsen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lawsen successfully pulls guard.
Lawsen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Lawsen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lawsen throws a sloppy head kick and Bean moves out of range easily.
As Lawsen tries to get set, Bean tries to push him back and clinch up but Lawsen manages to avoid the attempt.
Eric Lawsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bean swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lawsen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bean wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Lawsen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bean tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Lawsen presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Bean sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Bean is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lawsen pulls his head out easily.

Lawsen is working for a submission of some sort.

Lawsen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Bean is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lawsen stalling.

Bean looking for submissions off his back.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lawsen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lawsen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lawsen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bean's guard.

Lawsen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bean looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bean looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bean!

Lawsen tries to escape but Bean is in control.
Lawsen can't do much from the bottom here.
Lawsen tries to buck Bean off but Bean is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Lawsen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bean wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lawsen, who protects the arm well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lawsen is trying to buck Bean off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Lawsen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bean wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lawsen, who protects the arm well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lawsen is looking to regain half guard here but Bean keeps moving and retains side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lawsen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lawsen manages to get back to half guard.
Lawsen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lawsen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lawsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lawsen throwing shots but Bean is blocking nicely.
Bean is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lawsen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bean is now in Lawsen's guard. A big mistake from Lawsen there, giving up the dominant position!

Lawsen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Frederic Bean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eric Lawsen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lawsen holds on and takes a little breather.

And that's the end of the fight!
Eric Lawsen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lawsen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
