Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Daniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gichin Funakoshi!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funakoshi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Daniel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Daniel ducks under a wild hook from Funakoshi.
A looping hook to the body misses from Daniel. Funakoshi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Daniel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Funakoshi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Daniel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Daniel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Daniel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Funakoshi is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Daniel blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Gichin Funakoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Daniel closes the distance and clinches up with Funakoshi, looking for a takedown. Daniel pushes Funakoshi against the cage but Funakoshi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Funakoshi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


Daniel is rocked!
Funakoshi moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Oh Daniel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Funakoshi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Daniel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Funakoshi has closed the distance and engaged Daniel in a clinch.
Funakoshi stalls.
Funakoshi lands an elbow inside.
Funakoshi has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Daniel - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Funakoshi, and another! Daniel is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Gichin Funakoshi!
A very excited looking Gichin Funakoshi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
