Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lewis Fleming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Fang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lewis Fleming!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Danny Fang!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A right-left combo lands from Fleming.

Fang shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fleming napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fleming is trying to work for a sweep but Fang has mounted him!
Fang throws some wild stikes that Fleming manages to avoid easily.
Fleming is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fleming manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Fleming looking for a kimura from the bottom but Fang passes into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fang stands up and beckons Fleming to his feet.
Fang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fleming throws a leg kick but Fang moved away.
Fang changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Fang has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fleming jumps guard but Fang turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Fang creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fleming's defenses.


It looks like Lewis Fleming has been cut.
Fang effectively controlling the action here.
Fleming letting Fang take a breather here.
Fang lands an elbow inside.
Fleming working hard to break the clinch.

Fang jumps guard.
Fleming controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Fang working for submissions but it's allowed Fleming to get to half guard.

Fleming is thwarting Fang's attempts to control the position.
Fang tries to roll over but Fleming keeps him under control.

Fang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fleming is working away from the top position though.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fang is concentrating on defense, preventing Fleming from advancing position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fleming rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fang is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Fang scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fang controls the position.
Fang throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Fleming is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Fang is controlling him well.
Fleming tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Fang stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Fang looks to land a body kick but Fleming moved away.

Fang gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fang lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Fleming tries to pull guard but Fang won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Fang dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lewis Fleming's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Fang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fleming looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fleming really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fang working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Fang trying to control the action but Fleming is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fang takes a little break here. Fleming wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fleming is trying to get back to half guard.

Fang goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Fleming rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fang's guard! Nice work there by Fleming!
Fleming wants to control from the top but Fang keeps moving.
Danny Fang has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fleming is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Fang should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fang is trying to keep Fleming in close.
Fleming has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fleming drops back looking for a leg! Fang is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fang manages to kick Fleming off! Fleming jumps back into Fang's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fang is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Fleming would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fleming doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Fang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fleming looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fang advances to full mount.
Fang content just to control the position here.

Fang's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fang lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Fleming is rocked!
Fang sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Oh Fleming is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fang moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fleming has worked his arm free - good work by Fleming!

Fang looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fang sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Fleming is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
A control attempt from Fleming but he's now mounted!
Fang is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Fleming is in real trouble.
This has been an exciting period of action!
I really don't envy Fleming right now.
Fleming is working hard here to advance position.
Fang is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Fleming up.
Fang has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fleming fending off the submission attempt from Fang.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Fang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Fleming's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Fang throws a powerful right kick. Fleming tried to block low but the kick was high! Fleming was taken right off of his feet! Fang jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Danny Fang!
