Perez has chosen Another One Bites The Dust as his entrance music. Pascual Perez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez has closed the distance and engaged Lai in a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Lai has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Perez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lai prevents it.
Lai lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Perez throws a head punch that misses.
Lai throws a punch but it's blocked by Perez.
Lai misses with some punches.
Lai tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Perez has Lai pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Perez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lai tumbling to the mat - Perez dives into Lai's guard.

Perez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.
