Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerald Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Scott acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerald Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Scott!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Scott.
Scott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dyer feinted with a counter takedown.
Dyer shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense.
Scott feints the counter takedown.

Scott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dyer was covering up waiting for the punch and Scott finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Scott engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
It looks like Scott might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dyer throws his legs up looking for a submission but Scott uses it to pass to side control.
Scott wants to stand but Dyer has his arm trapped.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dyer prevents Scott from moving into mount.
Scott connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dyer some visible discomfort.
Dyer prevents Scott from improving position.
Dyer bucks up and tries to throw Scott off but instead Scott has got his back!

Scott has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dyer has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dyer trying to control the hands but Scott breaks the grip.
You can see the frustration on Dyer's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Scott looking to break Dyer's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Dyer remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Scott will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Dyer rolls, trying to escape but Scott keeps control of the position.
Scott is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Dyer rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dyer tries to roll over but Scott keeps him under control.

Scott wants to stand up but Dyer is controlling the position.
Scott is taking a breather. Dyer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scott connects with a nice short shot to Dyer's temple.

Scott is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Dyer!

Scott is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dyer is surviving well by controlling Scott's body position as best he can.

Dyer tries to hold on but Scott postures up.
Dyer is trying to escape the mount.
Dyer squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Scott is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Dyer is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Dyer flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Scott anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Dyer and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Scott slips an arm under Dyer chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Scott has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Scott is squeezing on Dyer like an anaconda would it's prey. Dyer fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chris Scott!
