Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gale Snoats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Vermeer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gale Snoats!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johan Vermeer!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vermeer throws a right hand that misses
and Snoats counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Snoats misses with a leg kick.
Snoats displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vermeer throws out the jab.
Vermeer with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Snoats fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vermeer.
Vermeer takes a swing at Snoats's ribcage but misses.
Vermeer throws a lazy uppercut
and Snoats counters with a right hand to the body.
Snoats misses with a hook. Vermeer ducked under it nicely.
Vermeer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snoats was well out of range. Poor timing from Vermeer.
Vermeer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Snoats.
Snoats looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Snoats moves out of range as Vermeer strikes.
Vermeer avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Vermeer looks like he wants to counter punch here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vermeer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Snoats walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Vermeer checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Vermeer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Snoats moves away.

Snoats uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vermeer has time to react.
Vermeer throws a jab but it's blocked by Snoats.
Snoats misses with a looping right.
Snoats tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vermeer was well out of range. Poor timing from Snoats.

Snoats defending well as Vermeer loads up on a big left hand.
Vermeer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vermeer. Snoats does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vermeer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Vermeer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Snoats finds it's way round the side to connect with Vermeer's head.
Snoats slips a jab from Vermeer.
Vermeer misses with a straight right.
Gale Snoats seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snoats uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vermeer.
Snoats throws a leg kick but Vermeer moved away.
Vermeer looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Snoats tries to work over Vermeer's front leg with a kick but Vermeer checks it.
Snoats lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vermeer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Snoats - the referee stops the clock and Vermeer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Snoats. Vermeer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Snoats uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vermeer.

Snoats rushes Vermeer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vermeer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Snoats scores with a nice strike.
Vermeer misses with an uppercut. Snoats saw that one coming.

Snoats has taken the fight to the clinch.
Snoats lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Vermeer misses with a punch on the inside.

Vermeer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Snoats moves out of range as Vermeer strikes.
Snoats is looking for a counter combo.

Snoats lands a lovely overhand right.
Snoats misses with a straight left.
Vermeer gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Snoats lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Vermeer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Vermeer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
It seemed like Vermeer was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Snoats throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Snoats has his foot on Vermeer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vermeer works his way back into a safe position though.
Vermeer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snoats. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vermeer wants to stand but Snoats has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Snoats looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Vermeer is defending well. Snoats quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Vermeer has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Snoats celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
