Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Malik Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Malik Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Trujillo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Trujillo swings for the body but Bishop moves out of range.
Bishop half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Bishop moves out of range of the body kick from Trujillo.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bishop enables Trujillo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bishop manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Trujillo throws an elbow that misses. Bishop uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Trujillo's guard. Nice move by Bishop!

Trujillo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bishop postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Trujillo wants to sweep here but Bishop controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bishop seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bishop is on top in guard.

Trujillo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trujillo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bishop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bishop scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trujillo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bishop.
Trujillo throws a low kick but Bishop moves out of range easily.
Trujillo throws a push kick but Bishop slaps the foot to one side.
Trujillo misses with a wild body shot.
A little feinted left hand from Bishop on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bishop tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bishop lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Bishop lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dominic Trujillo will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Trujillo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bishop moves away.

It looked like Bishop was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Trujillo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bishop working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trujillo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Trujillo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Trujillo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bishop throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Trujillo escapes and throws Bishop's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Trujillo shoots for a double leg takedown but Bishop sprawls well. He's pushed Trujillo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Trujillo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bishop to the ground. Trujillo is now in Bishop's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well Trujillo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
