PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Panupong Singsurat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Madrigal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madrigal is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lil Jon-Throw it Up. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Panupong Singsurat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Julio Madrigal!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madrigal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Madrigal throws out a counter right but Singsurat avoids it with no problem.
Madrigal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Singsurat defends well and Madrigal ends up having to push Singsurat into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Singsurat shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Madrigal's guard.

Singsurat defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Madrigal.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Madrigal looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Singsurat can't hide his disappointment, as Madrigal celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Julio Madrigal!
Julio Madrigal tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
