Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edmund Obrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kabuzo Uria!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Uria is defended easily by Obrien.
Obrien stuffs the takedown.
Uria looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Obrien is fending him off so far but Uria persists. Nope, Obrien circles away and we're back to standing.
Obrien is looking for a counter combo.
Edmund Obrien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kabuzo Uria.
Uria feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Obrien's calf.
Uria shoots in for a takedown but Obrien shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Obrien throws a big counter combination but Uria scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uria tries a head kick but it misses.
Uria throws a right and a left that Obrien avoids nicely.

Uria shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Obrien napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Obrien throws Uria to one side and escapes!

Uria goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Obrien is looking for a counter combo.
Obrien throws a head kick but Uria moves out of range.
Uria fails with a takedown attempt.
Uria looks winded!

Obrien closes the distance and clinches.
Uria has Obrien pressed against the cage.
Obrien stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Obrien as Uria tries to tie him up.
Uria is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Uria avoids the elbow strike from Obrien, against the cage.
Obrien is looking for a takedown.

Obrien pulls Uria into guard.
Obrien is looking to stand up but Uria isn't so interested in that idea.

Obrien pushes Uria off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uria shoots in but Obrien avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Uria darts in looking for a takedown but Obrien gets double underhooks and turns Uria into the cage.
A counter left hand to the body from Obrien misses its target.
Uria shoots for a double leg takedown but Obrien sprawls well. He's pushed Uria's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It looked like Obrien was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Uria shoots in but no luck this time.
Obrien lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Obrien feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Uria looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Obrien passes into side control.

Obrien decides to stand up, so the ref orders Uria to his feet.
Obrien works the jab nicely.

Obrien shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Uria napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Uria throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

As Uria looks to move away, Obrien throws a big counter combo but Uria just gets out of the way.
Uria dips to his left and cracks Obrien with an uppercut!
Uria is looking to clinch but Obrien is avoiding it.
It looked like Obrien was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Obrien avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Obrien swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Uria tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Obrien counters with a left to the body.
Uria has his takedown stuffed
and Obrien counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Uria is breathing heavily.

Uria shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Obrien as he avoids it easily.

Some wild striking there from Uria.

Uria gets caught flat footed, as Obrien shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Uria is looking to stand back up but Obrien counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Uria.

Uria wants to control but Obrien is keeping busy.
Obrien content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Obrien not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uria wants to get back to full guard but Obrien has mounted him!
Uria is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Obrien has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Uria is defending well but eventually Obrien manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Uria has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
