The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by McPetteri.

McPetteri throws a quick counter kick to the body but Franklin avoids it.
Franklin misses with a lunging right hand
and McPetteri counters with a nice body kick.
Franklin throws a body punch but McPetteri moves out of range.
Franklin throws a shot from downtown. McPetteri moves away and avoids it.
Franklin misses with a hook. McPetteri ducked under it nicely.
Franklin on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
McPetteri moves away from the strike by Franklin.
Franklin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by McPetteri.
Franklin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Franklin takes a swing at McPetteri's ribcage but misses.

McPetteri has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

McPetteri thows a body kick. Franklin tries to catch it but that hurt him.

McPetteri has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Franklin finds it's way round the side to connect with McPetteri's head.
McPetteri is looking to land body kicks.
Franklin throws a jab but it's blocked by McPetteri.

Franklin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
McPetteri moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
McPetteri slips a jab from Franklin.

McPetteri pushes Franklin away with a front kick.
Franklin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McPetteri counters with a solid body kick.
Franklin throws the left hand but McPetteri avoids the punch easily.
McPetteri half committed to a counter leg kick.
Franklin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McPetteri stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McPetteri.
McPetteri lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McPetteri takes one on the button.

Franklin throws a body punch but McPetteri moves out of range.
McPetteri lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McPetteri tries to land a leg kick but Franklin saw it coming and moves away.
Franklin doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Franklin bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops McPetteri! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

McPetteri is rocked!

Franklin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Oh McPetteri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McPetteri leaves his chin hanging out and Franklin seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! McPetteri crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Franklin!
