Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrey Lobtov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldous Wensleydale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Aldous Wensleydale enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andrey Lobtov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aldous Wensleydale!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wensleydale throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lobtov's waist but Lobtov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wensleydale off to one side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wensleydale.
Wensleydale moves in looking to clinch but Lobtov pushes him off.
Lobtov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Wensleydale has closed the distance and engaged Lobtov in a clinch.

Lobtov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lobtov manages to end up in side control.

Wensleydale defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lobtov.
Wensleydale is looking to improve his position but Lobtov isn't that keen on the idea.

Lobtov wants to finish this one by submission but Wensleydale is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lobtov.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wensleydale can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lobtov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wensleydale knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wensleydale really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lobtov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lobtov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wensleydale doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lobtov.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lobtov is trying to control. Wensleydale wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Wensleydale might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lobtov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lobtov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wensleydale wants to get back to full guard.

Lobtov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wensleydale for as long as he can get away with.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Wensleydale shoots for a takedown but Lobtov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lobtov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Wensleydale to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Wensleydale shrugs it off.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lobtov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
