Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vaughn Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Bronson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Bronson!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bronson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Ellis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bronson manages to get himself to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ellis uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ellis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bronson swivels and escapes.

Bronson is trying to control. Ellis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bronson wants to get up but he can't break Ellis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bronson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ellis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bronson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bronson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ellis on his heels. He'll look to pass Ellis's guard now, I'm sure.

Ellis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Ellis really is a fat lump.

Ellis pulls guard successfully.
Ellis controls Bronson momentarily but Bronson frees himself.
Bronson tries to stand but Ellis is controlling from the bottom.
Ellis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vaughn Ellis dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Ellis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bronson was covering up waiting for the punch and Ellis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bronson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Ellis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bronson walks away with a smile on his face. Ellis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ellis manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bronson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bronson holds on and takes a little breather.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bronson can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's time! Ellis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ellis closes the distance and clinches up with Bronson, looking for a takedown. Ellis pushes Bronson against the cage but Bronson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ellis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nick Bronson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bronson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
