Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Balbus Michael!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Because I Can!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
I Can walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Michael lands with a kick to the ribs.
Michael lands a glancing blow to the side of I Can's head.
I Can tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Michael counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Michael scores with a head kick. I Can tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
I Can goes for a double leg but Michael avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Michael continues to drive forward.
I Can throws a jab but it's blocked by Michael.
I Can showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Michael.
Michael misses the jab.
I Can tries to close the distance and clinch but Michael swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

I Can uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Michael.
I Can looks to land a right hand but Michael moved out of range.

We've been told by Michael's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
The fighters circling - Michael throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Michael is doing well to control the position and prevent I Can from advancing to side control.

I Can is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Michael is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Michael feints and then cracks I Can's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow I Can down.
I Can will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Michael tries to land a front kick but I Can steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Michael slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
I Can's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Michael is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that I Can can do to turn this around?

Michael thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on I Can if he has to take too many more of those.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! I Can crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Michael - the referee stops the clock and I Can gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Michael. I Can manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Michael bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of I Can's head.
I Can fails with the takedown
and Michael counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. I Can is lucky that one didn't land flush.
I Can is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

and Michael counters with a good low kick that I Can was not able to check.

I Can looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

I Can is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I Can is still on wobbly legs! Can Michael finish him?
Michael has I Can pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. I Can is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Michael - that's hurt I Can badly! Oh, another knee lands and I Can is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but I Can doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Balbus Michael!
Balbus Michael is the new featherweight champion!
Balbus Michael spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
In defeat, Because I Can stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm so handsome i'm not surprised this guy was all over me the way he was!'.
