Costel's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ain't No Sunshine. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neculai Costel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charles Ng!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ng digs a good hook to Costel's body.
Charles Ng seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ng thows a left - swing and a miss!
Costel scores with a jab to the body.
Costel pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ng throws a series of punches but Costel moves out of range.
Costel misses with a low kick.
Ng swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Ng misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Costel.
Ng on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Costel. Costel obviously looking to wear him down.
Ng loads up on a big right hand but Costel slips the punch.
Costel half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and Ng cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ng falls off balance throwing a combination

so Costel counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ng is wriggling around but Costel manages to pass to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ng wants to control but Costel is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Costel keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Costel is trying to control the action in half guard but Ng is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Costel is looking to stall here but Ng recovers full guard.

Costel has gone for a leg lock! Ng slips out almost immediately though and dives into Costel's guard.


Costel has his foot on Ng's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ng works his way back into a safe position though.

Ng trying to mount his opponent but Costel defends it.
Costel is looking for a sweep. Ng is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Costel is pressing down on Ng's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Ng gets to his feet. Costel looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ng swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Costel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ng.
Ng connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Costel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ng jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.


Costel is rocked!
Ng cracks Costel with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Charles Ng!
Our winner, Charles Ng, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Neculai Costel spoke after the fight, saying 'You win some, you lose some. I have to give it to Hess, he was sneakyer tonight.'.
