Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David C. Marvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yngve Stolt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marvin and Yngve Stolt. Marvin's entrance music is Superman Theme. A fine choice. Stolt has chosen Dropkick murphys - Johnny i hardly knew ya as his entrance music. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stolt lands with a nice body punch.
Stolt throws a right hand that misses

and Marvin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Stolt!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marvin wants to control but Stolt is keeping him busy.
Marvin advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stolt is trying desperately to improve position.
Marvin is trying to take his opponent's back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stolt swings for the body but Marvin moves out of range.
Stolt wants to slow Marvin down by chopping away at his legs.

Stolt scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Marvin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stolt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Marvin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stolt is looking to escape.

Stolt is in all sorts of trouble here.
David C. Marvin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stolt tries to hold on but Marvin pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Marvin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stolt can do to turn this around?

Marvin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stolt can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Marvin has his foot on Stolt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stolt works his way back into a safe position though.

My spies in Academy of Arse Whoopers inform me that Stolt has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Yngve Stolt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stolt lands a leg kick that knocks Marvin off balance momentarily.
Stolt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marvin was well out of range. Poor timing from Stolt.
Marvin feinted with a counter takedown.
Stolt waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Marvin.

Stolt lands with a straight right. Marvin didn't see that one coming.
Marvin shoots in for a takedown but Stolt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Stolt lands a nice shot that snaps Marvin's head back.

and Marvin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stolt's guard.

Marvin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Stolt stalling away here and it's allowed Marvin to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Stolt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
