Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Havasu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fero Zesh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Havasu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fero Zesh!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Zesh is defended easily by Havasu.
Zesh throws a head kick but Havasu moves out of range.

Zesh closes the distance and clinches.
Zesh wants to get back to striking at distance but Havasu won't allow it.

Havasu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Zesh uses from the top position.
Zesh tries to free his leg and advance position but Havasu is retaining full guard.
Zesh must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Havasu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Zesh steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Havasu.

Zesh throws a leg kick that misses.
Zesh tries to close the distance and clinch but Havasu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Zesh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Havasu as Zesh shoots in.
Mike Havasu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fero Zesh.
Zesh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zesh scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Havasu has closed the distance and engaged Zesh in a clinch.
Zesh is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Havasu to keep the fight standing.

Havasu prevents a body shot from Zesh.

Havasu gets control of Zesh's arms and successfully pulls guard. Havasu will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Zesh prevents Havasu from getting back to his feet.
Havasu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Havasu wants to sweep here but Zesh controlling him for the moment.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Havasu holds on and takes a little breather.
Zesh is pushing down on Havasu's leg trying to pass to half guard. Havasu is fighting to maintain full guard but Zesh has managed to sneak the leg through.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Havasu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zesh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zesh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zesh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Havasu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Havasu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Havasu will probably get the nod.
That's time! Havasu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Zesh avoids the head kick by Havasu.
Zesh misses with a takedown attempt - Havasu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Havasu tries to clinch there but Zesh circles away.
Havasu leaves Zesh with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Havasu seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Zesh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Zesh controls Havasu momentarily but Havasu frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Havasu is working Zesh over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Havasu is looking to advance position but Zesh has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Zesh wants to control the pace but Havasu is squirming around nicely.
Havasu is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Havasu bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Zesh is trying to keep Havasu in close.

Havasu wants to control from the top but Zesh keeps moving.
Zesh is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Havasu not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Zesh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Havasu is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Zesh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Havasu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Havasu tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Zesh manages to circle out of the way.

Zesh rushes Havasu and presses him up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Havasu jumps guard and drags Zesh to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Havasu wants to sweep here but Zesh controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Havasu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Zesh wants to clinch.

Havasu wants to get back to his feet but Zesh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zesh is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Zesh wants to control from the top but Havasu keeps moving.

Havasu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zesh can do to turn this around?
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mike Havasu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zesh drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Havasu gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Havasu tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Zesh counters with a nice uppercut.
Zesh misses with the combination.

Havasu gets the takedown into side control.
Zesh tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Zesh wants to control his opponent's hands but Havasu gets his hands free.
Havasu controls the position.
Havasu has the hooks in. Zesh is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Havasu lands punches and elbows.

Havasu biding his time, controlling Zesh.

Havasu is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Zesh knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Zesh for a finish.
You can see the frustration on Zesh's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Mike Havasu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Havasu looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Zesh is controlling Havasu 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

Mike Havasu showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Havasu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
