Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mohammed Fazik!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fazik fails with a takedown attempt.
Shlemenko went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Fazik moves out of range of the body kick from Shlemenko.

Fazik has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Fazik managing to block the knees to the body from Shlemenko.

Shlemenko jumps guard.
Fazik trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fazik seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shlemenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Shlemenko is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Fazik is trying to control. Shlemenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Fazik is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shlemenko is staying active underneath Fazik, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Shlemenko is defending against the submission attempts here by Fazik.

Fazik is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Shlemenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fazik on the ground.

Fazik is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shlemenko defends it well.
Fazik is pressing down on Shlemenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shlemenko is holding on for now.
Fazik should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Shlemenko is looking to improve his position.

Fazik is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shlemenko has managed to free his arm - good work.
Shlemenko looks like he's trying to stand up.

Fazik wants to take a breather but Shlemenko is having none of it.

Fazik is looking for a kimura but Shlemenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fazik to get the leverage.

Fazik seems to be working for a kimura but Shlemenko defends the submission attempt.
Fazik is looking to take a break and control but Shlemenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fazik is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Shlemenko as he works his way to full guard.
Fazik wants to control from the top but Shlemenko keeps moving.

Fazik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shlemenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shlemenko controls Fazik momentarily but Fazik frees himself.
Fazik trying to control but Shlemenko is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fazik not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Shlemenko keeping moving, preventing Fazik from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mohammed Fazik dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Fazik gets caught napping as Shlemenko dives in and scores a takedown. Fazik manages to retain guard.

Fazik is looking for a triangle but Shlemenko pushes his legs off easily.
Shlemenko is stalling in the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fazik looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Shlemenko is defending well. Fazik quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Shlemenko has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Fazik celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
