Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artie DeVanzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsden comes to the cage accompanied by Feiticeira by Deftones. Artie DeVanzo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVanzo checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Marsden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

DeVanzo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marsden defends it well.

DeVanzo feints and then cracks Marsden's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marsden down.
Marsden lands with an uppercut that bounces DeVanzo off the cage and back into range.
DeVanzo throws a hook but Marsden blocks it.
Marsden looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
DeVanzo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marsden can pounce on him.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that DeVanzo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

DeVanzo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

DeVanzo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marsden has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, DeVanzo has managed to get both his arms back between Marsden's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brandon Marsden will probably get the nod.
