Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Honza Kucera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Austin Williams!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kucera drops his hands momentarily and Williams takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've been hearing reports that Kucera has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Williams throws a hook to the side of Kucera's head but Kucera sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kucera attempts a counter takedown but Williams avoids it well and moves away.
Kucera steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Williams.
Kucera moves out of range of the strikes.

Williams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kucera tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Williams wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kucera sneaks back into half guard.
Kucera has hold of Williams's hands but Williams slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Williams is nestled in close to Kucera, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Williams prevents Kucera from improving his position.

Kucera actively working from the bottom here.
Williams slips a nice elbow through Kucera's hands, connecting with Kucera's forehead.

Williams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kucera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williams.
Kucera gets full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kucera working for a triangle but Williams defends it easily.

Kucera escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Williams landing with the ground and pound.
My spies in The Beast inform me that Williams has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Williams with a nice head shot there.
Kucera working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Williams.
Kucera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Williams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kucera's head.
Kucera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Williams trying to control but Kucera is working from the bottom.
Kucera lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kucera's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Williams controlling the position.
Williams tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kucera slips nicely into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kucera seems to be looking for submissions.
Williams trying to hold on to Kucera's head to control him but Kucera postures up.

Kucera is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Williams doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kucera.

Kucera is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Kucera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Williams tries to get to full guard but Kucera has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kucera is trying for a kimura here. Williams looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kucera wins by kimura!
