The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a sloppy head kick and Wagner moves out of range easily.
Wilson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wagner backs up against the cage.

It looks like Benno Wagner has been cut.

and Wilson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wagner throws a lazy uppercut
and Wilson counters with a stiff right hand.
Wilson misses with a wild combination.
Wagner drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wilson sprawls and moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wilson enables Wagner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wilson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wilson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wagner is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wagner tries to pull guard but Wilson holds him up against the cage and eventually Wagner drops back down to his feet.

Wagner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wilson to keep the fight standing.

and Wagner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wilson won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Wagner decides to stand back up. Wagner steps back and let's Wilson get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wagner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wilson as he jumps to the side.

Wagner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wagner off to one side.

Wagner closes the distance and clinches up with Wilson, looking for a takedown. Wagner pushes Wilson against the cage but Wilson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wilson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Wilson connects with a leg kick. Wagner looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Wagner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wilson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wagner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wilson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Wagner 's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wilson fakes the leg kick and cracks Wagner in the body.

Oooooh!!! Wilson has knocked Wagner down with a huge combo! Wilson steps away and waves a wobbly Wagner back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Wagner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wilson defends it nicely.
Wilson dips to his left and cracks Wagner with an uppercut!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wilson punishes Wagner 's body with a nice straight punch.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Wilson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wilson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Wagner is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Wagner shoots in for a takedown but Wilson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wagner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
