The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridsdale bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ridsdale dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ridsdale avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith connects with an inside leg kick.
Smith throws a head kick but Ridsdale moves out of range.
Ridsdale tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range.

Ridsdale clinches.
Ridsdale tries to stall but Smith uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Smith works on Ridsdale's body with a couple of short punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ridsdale wants to break the clinch but can't.
Smith manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Smith was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Smith darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ridsdale is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Smith walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

A head kick from Smith lands but Ridsdale takes it in his stride.

and as Ridsdale resets, Smith counters with a big head kick, out of nowhere! Ridsdale goes down! The referee sends Smith to a neutral corner and begins the count.. 3,4,5,6,7, will he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! This one is all over!
