With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Kint!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kint moves into range and connects with a jab.
Carter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kint tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kint swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kint pushes Carter up against the cage in a clinch.

Kint breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

It looked like Carter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kint throws a hook to the side of Carter's head but Carter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kint. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Carter lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Carter counters with a good, hard body kick but Kint shrugs it off.

and Carter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kint throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range.
Kint tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Carter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Rubin Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Carter throws out a loose jab but Kint uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kint connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carter momentarily.

Carter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

That was a close round but I would say that Rubin Carter will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Carter lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kint has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kint and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Carter throws a counter high kick but Kint was just alert enough to avoid it.
Kint looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Kint throws a right hand that Carter ducks under and follows up with a left that Carter also avoids with ease.

and Carter counters with a one-two to the body.
Kint fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Carter is out of range.
Carter tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kint manages to circle out of the way.
Carter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kint.

Kint lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close round but Rubin Carter did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
